Ray Corbo, LMFT

A therapist who talks like a person.

I'm Ray Corbo, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working online with men and couples across New Jersey and New York.

I keep my practice small on purpose: one therapist, one steady hour, and someone who remembers what you said last week. Before private practice I spent twelve years at Redeemer Counseling Services in New York, most of those as a clinical supervisor, training other therapists as well as seeing clients.

Most people arrive here because something has been repeating for a while: the same argument, the same flat feeling, the same anger turning up in the wrong place. My work is to slow that down enough to see its shape, and then to help you respond differently. Not theory, and not a script.

More about Ray, and what a first session is like

Four questions worth answering up front.

How long will therapy take?

Longer than a course of antibiotics, and shorter than forever. This is depth work, so most people come weekly at first and stay for months rather than weeks. We review how it is going as we go, and you are never locked into a number of sessions.

What does a session cost?

$275 for a 50-minute session, the same whether you come as an individual or as a couple. I am out-of-network and provide superbills on request, there are a few reduced-fee places, and the consultation is free. Fees and insurance in full

Do you have an office I can come to?

No, and that is deliberate. Every session is online by secure video for clients located in New Jersey or New York. There is no waiting room, no traffic, and no chance of running into someone you know on the way out.

Is this the right place if I am in crisis?

No. This is outpatient therapy for people who are functioning day to day, and it is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 now.

Ready when you are.

Thirty minutes, no charge, and no pressure to book anything afterwards. If we are not the right fit, I will tell you and point you somewhere better.
